The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the official schedule of Pakistan’s upcoming men’s three-match home T20I series against Australia. All three matches of the series will be hosted by the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The series, set to commence later this month, will also serve as a crucial testing ground for both sides before the upcoming 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

Australia to play three T20Is in Pakistan before T20 World Cup 2026

The Australian cricket team is set to play a series of three T20I matches in Pakistan as part of their collective 2026 T20 World Cup preparations. On Wednesday, January 14, i.e., a couple of weeks prior to the launch of the series, the PCB has unveiled the entire schedule of Australia’s short tour to the country.

In an official media release, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed expressed his excitement for the series, and urged fans to turn up in the stadium to support both sides.

Ahmed also added that the board purposely picked the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore as the venue for the series, in a bid to make a “familiar sight” for the Australian team, considering Australia players have played quite a number of internationals at the venue since March 2022. Nonetheless, here is a look at the entire schedule of Australia’s upcoming T20I tour of Pakistan.

Pakistan and Australia’s road towards T20I series, 2026 World Cup

The last time Pakistan and Australia went up against each other in T20Is was during Pakistan’s white-ball tour of Australia back in November 2024.

In the three matches played in Brisbane, Sydney and Hobart, the visiting Pakistan team suffered humiliating defeats to concede the three-match rubber 0-3 to the hosts.

The Pakistan cricket team also recently hosted Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe for a T20I tri-series a couple of months ago, with the ‘Men in Green’ lifting the title with an easy win over Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. Earlier this month, a three-match T20I series between hosts Pakistan and Sri Lanka yielded a 1-1 drawn result after the second match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

For Australia, the series in Pakistan will mark their return to T20I cricket after a gap of two-and-a-half months following a gruelling Ashes campaign at home. During their previous home T20I series against India last October and November, the hosts lost its five-match rubber 1-2.

As of now, several Pakistan players, as well as nearly all Australian players are currently engaged in the ongoing 2025-26 BBL season ‘Down Under’.

The upcoming three-match T20I series between the two cricketing titans will serve as the final set of international fixtures for both sides before next month’s 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

Interestingly, the Australian cricket team is also scheduled to tour Pakistan once again later this year, to play a series of three ODI matches.
