In a significant step towards hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has instructed the immediate formation of various committees to streamline preparations for the tournament. 

This directive was made during a meeting held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, where Naqvi reviewed crucial aspects of Pakistan’s readiness to host the prestigious international event.

Mohsin Naqvi Explains The Distinct Roles Of The Committees

According to reports from GeoNews, in the meeting, Naqvi emphasised the importance of urgency and precision in the formation of committees. The committees will have distinct roles and responsibilities in ensuring the smooth execution of preparations. 

With the world's top cricketing nations set to participate, he also underlined the need for flawless arrangements and meticulous planning to elevate the fan experience. He also underscored the importance of stadium upgrades and stressed the need for rapid progress to meet tight deadlines.

"With the world's top teams participating, our arrangements need to be flawless," Naqvi said.

Another topic of discussion at the high-level meeting was the current progress of stadium renovations across the country, including ongoing upgrades at venues in Faisalabad, Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.

The meeting was attended by top PCB officials, including Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza, and all PCB directors. 

Naqvi To Meet Jay Shah Ahead Of Champions Trophy 2025

It is also important to mention that, according to the reports,  Naqvi is also scheduled to meet Jay Shah in October during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final in Dubai. This meeting is expected to cover various issues, including India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, a matter of critical importance given the current diplomatic tensions between the two nations.

As Pakistan prepares to host its first ICC event since 1996, Mohsin Naqvi's leadership and the formation of committees will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Champions Trophy 2025 is a resounding success on the global stage.
