Pakistan batter Azam Khan's participation in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand has been ruled out due to a Grade-I tear of his right calf muscle. Following radiology reports, he has been advised a 10-day rest for recovery.

Azam Khan ruled out!

The first T20 between Pakistan and New Zealand in Rawalpindi got canceled because of heavy rain. Azam Khan couldn't get in the XI because of his knee and calf issues. Turns out, his injury is worse than they first figured, and tests say he needs rest.

Azam Khan is known as a powerful batsman who has the potential to single-handedly win matches. Despite playing 8 T20s for Pakistan, he hasn't quite lived up to expectations, scoring only 29 runs so far.

However, his exceptional performance in domestic cricket has earned him recognition, and Pakistan is giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent and excel on the international stage.

Azam Khan's impressive performance in the PSL earned him a call-up to the national team. However, due to his unfortunate injury, he will be unable to participate in the T20I series against New Zealand.

Controversial Pakistan-New Zealand series

The ongoing 5-match T20 series is viewed as crucial preparation for both teams leading up to the T20 World Cup in June. However, many key Kiwi players are occupied with the IPL, which has left Pakistani fans disappointed as they see it as a preference for the IPL over representing the national team.

With Kane Williamson absent, Michael Bracewell has stepped up to lead New Zealand in his absence.
