A rivalry that has gained promise in recent times is New Zealand versus Pakistan, which has provided fans with great entertainment and thrills. Now, as per a report in Cricket Pakistan, the PCB has accepted New Zealand Cricket's proposal to tour early next year for a white-ball series.
The said white-ball series could comprise either five T20Is or three ODIs that will be held sometime around the second week of January 2024. Pakistan's two-match Test tour of Australia ends on January 7, and New Zealand does not play South Africa until February.
Both PCB and NZC will sit together and finalise the finer details of the tour in the coming days, like the venue and tour itinerary.
Pakistan last visited New Zealand ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Down Under and were involved in a three-national T20I series along with Bangladesh and the hosts. Since then, the Black Caps have visited Pakistan twice, first for a Test series in December 2022 and then for a white-ball tour in April.
PCB is currently involved in a logjam with the BCCI regarding the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, which will be hosted in Pakistan.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is expected to decide upon the venue for the Asia Cup in the next few days.
