Problems for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) seem endless. PCB's new chairman Zaka Ashraf found embroiled in another mess after Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises decided to hold an emergency meeting.

As per a report in Inside Sport, PSL franchise has claimed that the PCB has not paid them their due share from the profit generated in PSL 2023, which as per the board, amounts to PKR 5 billion. The current profit-sharing model between PCB and PSL franchises is '5-95', with the board taking 95 percent and the clubs earning 5 percent.

As revealed by PCB, PSL 2023 raked in a profit of PKR 5.62 billion, with the share for the franchises and the board being around PKR 5,046,776,989 and PKR 582,534,480, respectively.

As per the agreement, 50 percent of the profit was to be paid by July 5, which is not the case as the franchises say. The report states that a meeting between franchise CFOs and PCB officials will take place today without the presence of Ashraf, who is present in South Africa for the ICC's CEC Meeting.

PSL franchises have expressed their displeasure with the current revenue model and that PCB rectify it.
