Long-time stalwart of Pakistan’s batting, Babar Azam faced a shocking snub from the Asia Cup squad after recent struggles. However, the snub didn’t sit well with the fans, who slammed the move by the Pakistan team management.

Following Mohammad Haris’ remarks on Babar Azam’s T20 approach, fans launched a fierce backlash. After captain Salman Ali Agha’s strike rate came under scrutiny following recent failure, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi came to support the star players.

PCB Chief Backs Pakistani Stars

For the past few years, Babar Azam’s form in the game has raised eyebrows. Ahead of stepping into the upcoming Asia Cup, the team management snubbed the ace Pakistani batter from the ongoing Tri-series and Asia Cup squad. Weighing in on the decision, Mohammad Haris suggested that Babar needs to rethink his approach in T20 cricket.

As Salman Ali Agha leads the Men in Green in the ongoing tri-series, he had a tough outing in the last game, scoring only 5 runs off 9 balls with a poor strike rate of 55.56. His poor outing sparked heavy criticism, while Mohammad Haris also faced backlash for his earlier comments.

After the criticism became harsh, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi came to defend the players. On his social media handle, he extended his support to Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Haris.

“Salman and Haris deserve support, not social media trolling,” Naqvi wrote on X.

Pakistan Riding High With Form Ahead Of Asia Cup

Ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan is looking promising in the ongoing T20I tri-series against the UAE and Afghanistan. They kicked off the series with a commanding 39-run win over Afghanistan, powered by Salman Ali Agha’s thrilling innings and the team’s stellar bowling performance.

Facing the UAE in their match, they extended their winning streak with a 31-run win over them. Topping the table, they now turn their focus to Afghanistan, with their strong form fueling hopes for a successful Asia Cup campaign.
