Not KKR; Rajasthan Royals Likely To Sign Rahul Dravid As Head Coach For IPL 2025

In the latest developments surrounding IPL 2025, there are reports that former India player Rahul Dravid has been approached by Rajasthan Royals to become their head coach for the upcoming season of the cash-studded league. 

Dravid's tenure with the Indian cricket team as their head coach ended recently after he guided the Men in Blue to their 2nd T20 World Cup trophy. Earlier, there were reports that KKR might replace him with their outgoing mentor Gautam Gambhir, but a report from TOI suggests that Dravid and RR are in advanced talks.

"Talks are going on between RR and Dravid, and an announcement in this regard is around the corner," reported Times Of India. 

Dravid has a great relationship with the Royals, as he played for the inaugural IPL champions from 2011-13 and also served as their mentor from 2014-15. 

Royals are eying their 2nd IPL title, as they came close in 2022 but lost to Gujarat Titans in the finals. However, if Dravid gets appointed as their head coach, then it is unclear whether Kumar Sangakkara, who is their director of cricket, would be present with the side for the upcoming season or not. 

Talking about Dravid, since his last tenure with RR, he has gained experience, as India won the T20 World Cup title under his tenure and he also took them to the finals of 2023 World Cup.
