The Indian team might walk into the Asia Cup 2025 without any sponsor logo on their jerseys. This unusual situation comes after fantasy sports company Dream11 ended its association with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Dream11 was India’s official jersey sponsor, but it pulled out following the passing of the new Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, which bans real-money gaming platforms in the country.

Dream11’s exit has left a big gap for the BCCI. The company had signed a deal worth ₹358 crore for the 2023–2026 cycle, and along with My11Circle, contributed nearly ₹1,000 crore through sponsorships of Team India and the Indian Premier League (IPL). Now, with the Asia Cup around the corner, the BCCI has little time to find a replacement.

No Jersey Sponser Finalised For India's Asia Cup Jersey

An emergency meeting of the BCCI’s Apex Council was held on August 28, chaired by interim president Rajeev Shukla, to address this issue. According to India Today reports, the board discussed possible sponsors but decided that there isn’t enough time to finalis a deal before the tournament begins.

While Toyota and a fintech start-up have already shown interest in sponsoring the Indian team, the official process to award the contract has not started yet.

The BCCI is also looking at the bigger picture. Instead of rushing into a short-term deal just for the Asia Cup, the board is hoping to sign a long-term sponsor who can stay with Team India until the 2027 ODI World Cup. This would ensure stability and possibly bring in more money than the Dream11 deal.

For now, it seems fans will see Team India playing in jerseys without any sponsor logo during the Asia Cup. The tournament is scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28, with matches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
