Nick Knight, the retired England cricketer, found himself in an uncomfortable situation as commentators Dinesh Karthik and Ravi Shastri discussed his 19-year-old daughter during the commentary of Day 4 in the third Test between India and England in Rajkot.

As Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan built a strong partnership, the commentators discussed the sacrifices Indian cricketers often make, like prioritising cricket over education, just before Knight's daughter was unexpectedly brought up.

While Nick Knight's daughter's name remained anonymous, there's talk of her potential as a tennis player, with Dinesh Karthik hinting she might be among the best in her age group.

While discussing Sarfaraz and Jaiswal's achievements, Karthik attempted to shed light on Knight's daughter, but the former England player seemed hesitant to reveal any specifics about her.

"Not many know that your daughter is a lovely tennis player. She has opportunity to go to America but you're reluctant to send her away. You want to keep her in the nest. Understandable that. How good is she, Nick? What does she do? Under-14, Under-16… she's the best in Under-16. Am I right there?" Dinesh Karthik said.

In reply, Knight stated that his daughter is doing okay but he doesn’t like talking about it. This is when Ravi Shastri stepped in, aiming to extract additional details from Knight about his daughter, yet the former England opener stayed silent.

"You're being modest. I saw her play and she was whacking it properly there. I didn't know. I heard that the surname was Knight but I didn't know it was your daughter,” Shastri said.

Nick, in reply, told the fellow commentators to stick to cricket.

Knight, a seasoned cricketer with 17 Test matches and 100 ODIs for England under his belt, amassed a total of 4395 runs during his international career spanning from 1995 to 2003. Following his retirement post the 2003 World Cup, Knight transitioned into broadcasting, joining the Sky Sports cricket commentary team.
