New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert has joined the San Francisco Unicorns for the 2025 edition of MLC. This will be his first time playing in the American T20 league. Alongside, Daryl Mitchell is returning to Texas Super Kings (TSK) after missing last season due to injury.

Major Cricket League (MLC) is expanding its footing by attracting more international players for the upcoming 2025 edition. MLC 2025 will be held from June 13 to July 14, with Oakland’s Coliseum hosting matches for the first time.

Ahead of the new edition, New Zealand batter Tim Seifert has signed up for his maiden stint in MLC.

Tim Seifert, Daryl Mitchell To Feature In MLC

Tim Seifert, the wicket-keeper batter from New Zealand, has been signed by San Francisco Unicorns for the upcoming edition of MLC. He will reunite with fellow Kiwi stars Finn Allen and Corey Anderson, who is also the captain of the Unicorns. The team finished runners-up in the 2024 season and hopes to go one step further this year.

Seifert and Allen recently impressed for New Zealand against Pakistan, forming a powerful opening pair. They are not currently contracted by New Zealand Cricket but have promised to be available for all T20I series before the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Other New Zealand players are also making moves in the MLC. Daryl Mitchell is returning to Texas Super Kings after missing last season due to injury. He will join Adam Milne and Devon Conway, who also has experience playing under TSK coach Stephen Fleming in the IPL.

David Warner Also Lined Up For MLC Debut

Australian cricket legend David Warner is set to play in Major League Cricket for the first time, joining the Seattle Orcas for the 2025 season. The Orcas officially confirmed Warner’s signing on April 18, calling it a big moment for the team and the league.

Warner retired from international cricket in 2024 after a legendary career for Australia. Despite his impressive T20 record, he went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, his move to MLC gives fans another chance to see him in action on the global stage.
