In a recent development, Quetta Gladiators' owner Nadeem Omar has confirmed that the franchise has released pacer Naseem Shah ahead of the PSL 08 draft.
Naseem, who debuted for the Gladiators in the 2020 season of the PSL, was his team's highest wicket-taker in the last edition of the tournament, bagging 14 wickets in 10 matches.
Overall, the speedster has played 19 PSL games, claiming as many wickets at an average and strike-rate of 28.52 and 20.89, respectively.
The 19-year-old has been a lethal force for Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Despite claiming only three wickets in the tournament, he has kept the batters under check, giving away runs at an economy of just six.
With Naseem now released from Quetta, Omar endorsed the side's present aim which is to sign high-quality players in the upcoming draft, scheduled in the third week of November 2022.
Here is what Omar said
"We will try to add the best players to our squad, our aim has always been to give platform to the players."
Reportedly, all the teams are to announce the list of their retained and released players on November 11.
