The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled Bangladesh’s 14-player squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Ireland. From the squad that played against Sri Lanka back in June this year, the BCB has dropped bowling all-rounder Nayeem Hasan, wicketkeeper-batter Mahidul Islam Ankon and fellow stumper Anamul Haque.
Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the Bangladeshi team after he was reinstated as national Test skipper a few days ago.
Shanto, Litton Das and Rahim to helm strong BAN squad
Shadman Islam and Mahmudul Hasan Joy will likely continue to open the batting for Bangladesh in the Test series against Ireland. Jaker Ali retained his place in the national team despite his recent struggles in white-ball cricket.
Senior Najmul Hossain Shanto, who quit Test captaincy a few months ago, will continue to lead the Bangladesh national team after being reportedly convinced by the BCB. Other star performers selected in the team are T20I captain Litton Das, senior pro Mushfiqur Rahim, star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and fast bowlers like Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury, Syed Khaled Ahmed and Nahid Rana among others. Here is a look at Bangladesh’s entire squad for the home Test series against Ireland.
