In a significant development, Asia Cup performers from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have made rapid progress in the updated ICC rankings. While India's swashbuckling batter Abhishek Sharma has registered his career-best rating, ace Bangladesh speedster Mustafizur Rahman and Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed have made notable gains on the list.

India, Pakistan, Bangladesh players rewarded with ranking surge

Abhishek Sharma has been phenomenal in the Asia Cup, providing India with scintillating starts with his fearless stroke play. His blistering half-century helped Abhishek retain the top spot in T20I batters' rankings, recording his career-best rating of 907.

Meanwhile, Abrar Ahmed, who bowled a magnificent spell in Pakistan's most recent Asia Cup clash against Sri Lanka after having an off day against India, has progressed twelve spots, finishing this week as the fourth-ranked T20I bowler.

On the other hand, Mustafizur Rahman has also entered the top ten, claiming the ninth position on the bowlers' chart following his Asia Cup heroics. Mustafizur has been prolific in the tournament, scalping seven wickets, including two three-wicket hauls in four matches.

Other notable developments in updated ICC rankings

Mustafizur's Bangladesh teammate Mahedi Hasan has moved three places up to the seventeenth, while Kuldeep Yadav and Shaheen Afridi have risen two spots each to the 21st and 25th, respectively.

Haris Rauf, who has bagged six wickets across three Asia Cup innings, has also moved nine spots up, finishing the week as the 28th-ranked T20I bowler. Sahibzada Farhan's batting exploits (156 runs in 5 Asia Cup innings) have helped him earn crucial rating points and jump 31 spots to the 24th position on the batters' list.

Faheem Ashraf and Bangladesh opener Saif Hassan are also among the biggest gainers, rising 12 and 61 places in their respective categories.
