As the IPL 2025 final is just one day away and thrills are touching the sky. Among this, the Punjab Kings’ outstanding victory over the Mumbai Indians and their entry to the final clash added more drama to that.

As the Shreyas Iyer and Co. were chasing the total, former Indian cricketer Murali Kartik’s harsh remark on Priyansh Arya sparked outrage among fans

Fans’ Outrage Over Murali Kartik’s Remark

After securing the victory over the Gujarat Titans, the Mumbai Indians crossed swords with the Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2. After the Mumbai Indians put on a massive total of 203, the PBKS batters dominated the MI bowlers with their explosive performances. But while doing commentary in the second innings, a remark of Murali Kartik on Priyansh Arya caught the air.

While chasing the 204-run total, Priyansh Arya played a quick-fire knock of 20 runs in just 10 balls with a strike rate of 200. But after his dismissal, commentator Murali Kartik sparked drama with a controversial slip of the tongue, calling it ‘the demise of Priyansh Arya.’

Fans didn’t take the remarks lightly as they attacked the former cricketer. His poorly chosen words left the crowd fuming, with many calling for his ouster from the commentary box.

Punjab Kings’ Magnificent Win Seals Final Spot

After facing defeat in Qualifier 1, the Punjab Kings faced the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2. While bowling first, the PBKS bowlers struggled to restrict the MI batters. Amidst the slump, Azmatullah Omarzai secured 2 crucial wickets. The other bowler tried to bring out their best game and restricted the opponent to 203 runs.

While chasing the total, Prabhsimran Singh walked out early. But captain Shreyas Iyer's outstanding 84-run partnership with Nehal Wadhera turned the game. After Wadhera’s 48-run cameo, Iyer carried the team to the final with a thrilling unbeaten 87, sealing a dramatic 5-wicket victory.
