The quarter final line-up of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season has been unveiled as the conclusion of yet another group stage round of the competition inches closer. On Thursday, January 8; i.e., on the day of an eight-match Vijay Hazare round across Ahmedabad, Saurashtra, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Rajkot, eight teams officially made it to the knockout stage of the season, with all eight set for a two-day blockbuster quarter final saga on January 12 and January 13 in Bengaluru next week.

As per the reported schedule, Group C runners-up Mumbai will be facing Group A toppers Karnataka, while Group B’s unbeaten Uttar Pradesh will go up against Group D’s runners-up Saurashtra.

Vijay Hazare Trophy set to enter knockout territory

As per a schedule laid out by Indian Express journalist on X towards the fag end of the Group stage of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season, all eight teams have been finalized for the quarter final stage of the tournament.

The teams are:

  • Group A: Karnataka (1 and also defending champions), Madhya Pradesh (2)
  • Group B: Uttar Pradesh (1), Vidarbha (2)
  • Group C: Punjab (1), Mumbai (2)
  • Group D: Delhi (1), Saurashtra (2)

The quarter final line-up of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season reads:

  • Uttar Pradesh v Saurashtra
  • Karnataka v Mumbai
  • Delhi v Vidarbha
  • Punjab v Madhya Pradesh

All four quarter final matches of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season will be played on Monday, January 12 and Tuesday, January 13 next week. The BCCI will be expected to unveil the exact schedule and the order of matches along with their confirmed venues soon.

Karnataka, having won the previous edition in January last year, will start out as defending champions before their faceoff against India’s domestic heavyweights Mumbai in possibly the match of the competition.
