3 New IPL Buys Of RCB To Watch Out For In Champions Trophy 2025

RCB is one of the most high-profile teams in the Indian Premier League and whatever they do, becomes a talking point. They are yet to won a trophy though and have often been guilty of not picking a balanced squad and tend to rely more on their star players. In the IPL 2025 mega auction though, RCB came up with an interesting strategy and did not go all in for any player, like they normally do and have formed a formidable unit.

There are some interesting buys who will be playing for RCB for the first time in their career, but are proven performers and are going to play Champions Trophy 2025. Let's see who are those three new RCB buys who can make an impact in mega ICC tournament.

3. Jacob Bethell

Jacob Bethell is one of the rising stars in world cricket and was bought by 2.6 Crore at IPL 2025 auction. He has just started his international career, but has already showed glimpses of his talent and has been preferred over some more experienced names in England's Champions Trophy squad.

In the 9 ODIs, he has scored 218 runs at an average of 31.14 with two fifties in it. He got starts in his initial six games, but could not carry on and finally got to his maiden fifty in his seventh innings. He is a compact cricketer and has the ability to hit effortless sixes and the young man displayed his talent to perform under pressure with a fifty against India in Nagpur. England were in trouble in that game and the way, Bethell worked his way along with lower-order batters makes him a talent to watch out. 

In List A cricket, Bethell has five fifties in 23 innings and has 20 wickets too with his left-arm spin. This ability to deliver handy overs makes him a handy option in subcontinent conditions and could make it big in the Champions Trophy.

2. Phil Salt

Phil Salt is a destructive batter and after heroics for KKR in IPL 2024, the English opener was bought for 11.50 Crore by RCB. He will be a key player for England in Champions Trophy 2025 and a lot will depend on his explosive starts on flat wickets in Pakistan. The batter has a career strike-rate of 115.64 in ODIs which shows the kind of impact he makes, and has an average of 34.96 with five fifties and one hundred.

He suits perfectly into England's ultra-aggressive approach and has played lot of T20 cricket in subcontinent conditions which will help him chalk out his plans better in Champions Trophy. Salt has played in PSL and ILT20 recently, the conditions where Champions Trophy 2025 will be played, and Salt is surely one of the new RCB buys who can make an impact in ICC tournament.

1. Liam Livingstone

Liam Livingstone is an experienced cricketer and a proven performer and has been bought at 8.75 Crore by RCB. He has been delivering in T20 cricket not only for his country, but also in leagues all around the world, but in recent times has evolved as an ODI batter and it makes him a crucial asset for his country in Champions Trophy.

Liam Livingstone has 890 runs in 32 ODI innings at an average of 34.23 and strike-rate of 111.38 and has one hundred and four fifties. His best year in the format came in 2024 where he smashed 286 runs in eight innings at an average of 57.20 and strike-rate of 133.02 with one hundred and one fifty. So, he surely is a man in form and the true wickets in Pakistan would suit his batting as well.

He is a handy bowler too and has the knack of getting crucial wickets with his leg-breaks and has 21 wickets in 34 games. Thus, Livingstone with his power-hitting skills and finishing skills would be an important player for England.
