Rohit Sharma will go down as one of the finest white-ball batters in the history of the game and he proved that once again in Cuttack with a blistering 76-ball century against England. It is his 32nd century in ODIs and with this masterclass, he has made sure that he shuts down all the criticism that has come his way in recent past. He got to his century with a fearless six and it has been the hallmark of his batting in white-ball formats.

In the last few series, Rohit has struggled to get going, but those failures majorly have come in red-ball cricket, and the Indian skipper's class and ability in white-ball formats has never been in doubt. His last ODI century came against Afghanistan in 2023 World Cup, but apart from that he has played plenty of impactful knocks in ODI cricket and one of the major reasons of India.

Rohit Sharma Reaches His 32nd Century In Style

Rohit looked in great touch right from the onset in this game, as he smashed a four and a six in the second over of the innings. He continued his onslaught right throughout his innings, and stitched a strong stand first with Gill and then with Shreyas Iyer. He got to his century on the second ball of the 26th over and it was against Adil Rashid. The leg-spinner was high on confidence after taking the wicket of Virat Kohli, but Rohit danced down the track for a flighted delivery and launched it way over long off for a six.

Rohit Sharma eventually departed off the bowling of Liam Livingstone in the 30th over on the score of 119 off 90 balls. He hit 12 fours and seven sixes in his knock and has taken India to a very strong positon in their run-chase of 305 in Cuttack.
