It is important to note that, Mohammed Shami recently made his return to professional cricket during Bengal’s Ranji Trophy fixture against Madhya Pradesh. The speedster bowled 43.2 overs across two innings, and took six crucial wickets. He also made significant contribution with the bat that included a quickfire 37 off 36 balls in the second innings.
Following his impressive outing, there has been widespread speculation about Shami being included in India’s squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia. However, according to several reports, the BCCI has decided to monitor his fitness during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy before making a final decision.
