Mohammad Hasnain, Asif Ali Added to Pakistan’s Squad for Asian Games 2023

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Thursday that Qasim Akram will captain the side in the 19th Asian Games. The competition, scheduled to take place in Hangzhou, China, will be played in T20 format and run from September 28 through October 7.

Mohammad Hasnain (9 ODIs, 27 T20Is), Asif Ali (21 ODIs, 55 T20Is), Haider Ali (2 ODIs), Khushdil Shah (10 ODIs, 24 T20Is), Shahnawaz Dahani (2 ODIs, 11 T20Is), and Usman Qadir (1 ODI, 23 T20Is) are among the international stars in a strong 15-member squad.

In addition to the star names, Aamir Jamal, Arafat Minhas, Arshad Iqbal, Omair Bin Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Rohail Nazir, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Sufiyan Muqeem will be part of Pakistan Shaheens (Pakistan-A).

The Shaheens will participate in the competition beginning on October 3 and 4 at the quarterfinal stage. The semi-final matches will be played on October 6, with the final scheduled for a day later. There will also be a match for the bronze medal on Saturday, October 7.

The Pakistani men made its first and only appearance at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, and took home a bronze medal.
