In a significant development, Australia has faced a massive blow ahead of the second Test against India at Adelaide Oval. Mitchell Marsh has reportedly been injured and Beau Webster is named as his replacement for the second Test. 

According to the reports of Webster, the Tasmanian all-rounder, will likely receive his maiden call-up following the series-opening defeat at Perth Stadium, where Australia suffered a crushing 295-run loss to India.

Mitchell Marsh Likely To Miss Second Test Against India

Mitchell Marsh's injury has emerged as a key concern for the Australian camp. In the first Test match, Marsh has bowled 17 overs in the match, and has taken 2 wickets for 12 runs in the first innings and 1 wicket for 65 runs in the second innings. However, the all-rounder reportedly pulled up 'sore' after the Perth Test, that has led to concerns over his fitness ahead of the Adelaide Test.

It is important to mention that while there is a ten-day gap between the two Tests, Marsh’s recovery is under scrutiny, and should he fail to recover in time for the day-night contest at Adelaide Oval, Beau Webster will be in line to make his Test debut for Australia.

Beau Webster's Remarkable Domestic Record 

Beau Webster has made headlines in recent time with his remarkable performance. Webster has been one of the most consistent performers in Australian domestic cricket over the past couple of years. Since the start of the last years Sheffield Shield season, Webster has been a standout player with 1788 runs at a highly impressive average of 51.08. 

Not only has he been a consistent run-scorer, but his versatility as an all-rounder adds value to his selection. Along with his batting prowess, he has also been effective with the ball as he claimed 30 wickets at an average of 29.30 in the Sheffield Shield last summer. 

He also enjoyed a successful stint with Gloucestershire in the County Championship during the winter. Playing in England, he scored 233 runs at 58.25 and has also claimed 16 wickets.
