The Indian Premier League is the biggest cricketing festival in India and the stage is now set for the 18th edition of the tournament. There were earlier reports that the 2025 IPL season will kick off with KKR taking on RCB on March 22 and now the TOI has revealed that Mumbai Indians (MI) , the five-time champions will play their first home game of the season on March 31.
According to the report, MI will play their initial two games of the seasons away from the home and will then return to Wankhede for their third match of the season. Hardik Pandya will lead the franchise in the 2025 season and he would be hoping that his team comes up with a better performance after finishing last in the 2024 season.
Gujarat Titans To Play First Home Game Of IPL 2025 On March 25
The report also mentions that Gujarat Titans, the team led by Shubman Gill will play their first home game on March 25 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. They finished eighth in the last season and just like Mumbai Indians, they would be hoping for a better season in 2025.
The season will also see change in arsenal in all the teams as mega auction has created lot of disruption in the team balance of various teams. Mumbai Indians though retained five players which includes former captain Rohit Sharma and the current Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav. They last won IPL in 2021 and would be hoping to start afresh in the new cycle after the disappointing last cycle.
Gujarat Giants also have changed their arsenal quite a bit for a new cycle and Gill would have Jos Buttler at the top of the order along with other big overseas and Indian names to take the franchise forward.
