The KFC Big Bash League | 13 Overseas Player Draft took place in Melbourne on Sunday with every club allowed a minimum of and maximum of three picks.

The draft was divided into four rounds. Players were arranged into four categories - Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

A total of 21 players were drafted into the clubs.

Melbourne Stars made the first pick as they had won the weighted lottery in July. They chose Rashid Khan, however, Adelaide Strikers plucked out the retention card for the all-rounder. The Stars then went for Harry Brook and further added Haris Rauf, and Usama Mir to complete the list.

As for the Strikers, after retaining Rashid, they acquired the services of Jamie Overton and Adam Hose. 

Hobart Hurricanes availed their platinum pick in the form of Chris Jordan. In the further rounds, they roped in Sam Hain and Corey Anderson. Sydney Sixers drafted two players, namely Tom Curran and James Vince from the platinum category. After passing on their turn in the third round, they hired leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed in the final one.

Brisbane Heat selected Colin Munro to start off their draft session. Sam Billings and Paul Water were further pooled in their contingent.

Melbourne Renegades, Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers picked two overseas players each. 

The Renegades were done with the draft in only the first two rounds as they hired Quinton de Kock and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. 

Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers poached Englishmen Alex Hales and Zak Crawley respectively. The two teams bagged Zaman Khan and Laurie Evans in the remaining rounds.
