While the cricket world had marked their calendars for the big-ticket clash ever since the Asia Cup 2023 schedule came, rain poured in as a killjoy.
While the first innings also had several rain-interruptions, play could not be made possible after India's 10th wicket fell. Although there was a point when the match was nearing a resumption, the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium again experienced raging rain as the umpires finally decided to call off the game.
Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag, who after smashing the bowlers all through his career is hitting the ball over the park on X as well, posted a hilarious tweet on the rain-drenched affair.
In his light-hearted tweet, Sehwag mentioned that the Asia Cup organisers chose to conduct the tournament amidst a season where one enjoys tea and fritters.
Sehwag also seems to be miffed like the rest of the fans, who were in a mood to enjoy an enthralling action between bat and bowl at Kandy.
While Pakistan have qualified for the Super Fours, India have a game left against Nepal. If they win that match, they will also make it to the next round and get to face Pakistan once again.
