Cricket Australia (CA) and Cricket Victoria (CV) are considering arrangements for a special Pakistan fan zone to be established at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for the coming Boxing Day Test from December 26.

In a unique initiative aimed at raising fan interest amongst Pakistanis based in Australia or travelling for the series, the MCG is set to have a dedicated 'Fan Zone' situated outside Gate 4 of Australia's grandest cricketing venue, boasting a packed crowd of above 1,10,000.

As per the fan attraction strategy, woven cots (Char Pai's) will be arranged for Pakistani fans to immerse themselves in the game in a traditional Punjabi setting within the MCG premises during the five-day Test match.

The setting will be activated for three days of the Test, allowing those attending the fixture to have a relaxed view of the game while hosts Australia battle it out for supremacy against a spirited Pakistan touring side.

"To enhance the fan experience, a fan-walk is scheduled for the opening day of the Test, allowing enthusiasts to engage in a special procession to kick off the cricket festivities," Cricket Pakistan further reported.

"Adding a touch of nostalgia, a tape ball cricket match, reminiscent of traditional street cricket, is also on the agenda, promising a delightful and authentic cricketing experience."

"The entertainment lineup for the event reaches its peak with a live performance by the talented Faisal Amlani on the morning of day one," he added.

The Boxing Day Test is anticipated to be an intense one as it provides Pakistan with a final opportunity to get back in the three-match series after facing huge criticism and naysaying for their horrific collapse to 89 all out and defeat by 360 runs in the opening Test in Perth.
