Out-of-favour Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal, having already mastered the craft of Yo-Yo test, recently bettered his personal best score. Earlier this year, the Karnataka batsman recorded 20.1 score in his Yo-Yo test, thus ensuring that he is dedicated to his fitness even though he has not played a single international for Team India in more than a year.

Maintaining discipline and work ethics in his training, Agarwal has now clocked a score of 21.1 in his latest test. The opening batsman recently showed off his personal best fitness score on his Instagram account.

Mayank Agarwal betters’ country-best Yo-Yo record

A few days ago, prior to India’s Asia Cup 2023 campaign, fitness enthusiast Virat Kohli shared his Yo-Yo test score of 17.2 with his fans on his social media accounts. The same test was conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of team’s gruelling cricketing season ahead.

Known for his fitness and rigorous work ethics, Kohli’s score of 17.2 fell way below Team India discard Mayank Agarwal’s January 2023 attempt of 20.1. Moreover, the Karnataka-based batsman has now bettered his own score by registering 21.1.

For the uninitiated, a Yo-Yo test is a fitness test used to estimate performance levels of players in stop-and-go sports like football and basketball. However, the test has also gained massive prominence in cricket off late. The test requires players to dart between markers set 20 metres apart, with each demanding increasing speeds.

Agarwal continues to remain a force to be reckoned within India’s domestic circuit, as he frequently plays for Karnataka in all BCCI-affiliated competitions. He also represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise in this year’s IPL 2023 season.
