Matheesha Pathirana Ruled Out Of IPL 2024; Pacer Bids Emotional Goodbye

Matheesha Pathirana, the star CSK skipper from Sri Lanka has announced that he will not take any further part in IPL 2024 due to an unfortunate hamstring injury. The pacer revealed the news on his official instagram handle and X handle and it is surely a big blow to CSK who will also most likely miss Deepak Chahar for the rest of the season.
Pathirana left for Sri Lanka on Sunday, 5th of May to recover from a hamstring injury with the T20 World Cup just around the corner, and once that news came up, it was almost certain that he would not return to India as hamstring injuries generally take time to heal.

Pathirana played only six games in IPL 2024 but made a significant impact with 13 wickets and CSK will surely miss his world-class death-bowling skills.
His injury is also a matter of anxiety for Sri Lankan fans as he is an important player for them in the T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in the USA and Caribbean and it would be interesting to see how he shapes up with less than a month to go for the marquee event.
