Jofra Archer conceded the worst-ever T20I spell of his English career, giving away 60 runs from his four overs against Indian batters in the second match of the series at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on January 25. Opening the bowling for England alongside Mark Wood, Archer did manage to pick up a wicket, in the form of blistering Indian opener Sanju Samson, but his early strike made no difference to the visitor’s fortunes as Jos Buttler and co. lost the match to go 0-2 down in the series.

Shortly after the match, Jofra Archer became a subject of some hilarious social media memes, with several cricket fans targeting his wayward bowling against a star-studded Indian batting line-up. Fans also praised young batting star Tilak Varma for smothering the English paceman during the crucial overs of the Indian run-chase.

Fans troll Jofra Archer for horror spell in 2nd T20I

Several Indian cricket fans took to X after England’s thrilling two-wicket defeat to India in Chennai on January 25. Many fans cited Jofra Archer’s expensive four-over spell as one of the major factors behind England’s defeat.

While some fans likened Archer with Pakistan paceman Haris Rauf from the time the latter struggled to take wickets, others brutally trolled him with some hilarious social media memes. Here is a look at some of the fans trolling the visiting fast bowler for his horror show in the second T20I:

Jofra Archer conceded three boundaries in the opening over of the Indian run-chase to Abhishek Sharma, before rushing Sanju Samson with pace in his following over.

Tilak Varma, who top-scored for India with a match-winning 55-ball 72*, took a special liking to Archer as the young Indian batter launched the visiting paceman for a boundary and four sixes during his innings.

Trailing 0-2 in the five-match series, Jofra Archer-starrer English team will now face hosts India in the third T20I in Rajkot on January 28.
