On Thursday, June 6, Los Angeles Knight Riders took to social media platforms to announce the signing of star Australian batter Alex Carey for the upcoming edition of Major League Cricket (MLC). 

LA Knight Riders had a forgetful MLC last year, as they finished last on the table. They played five games under the leadership of Sunil Narine and won just a solitary match. 

The LAKR are looking to follow the footsteps of Kolkata Knight Riders, who won the IPL title this year after a long gap of 10 years. Narine, who represents both the franchises, is in red form as he scored 488 runs and took 17 wickets in IPL 2024. 

Talking about Alex Carey, he has a dismal average of 11 in T20Is. In 38 games, Carey has just 233 runs for Australia. In the IPL, Carey has featured for Delhi Capitals in the 2020 season. 

Other high-profile MLC signings for Los Angeles Knight Riders for 2024 include Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan and South Africa's David Miller. The Sunil Narine-led side also took to Twitter to introduce the list of players for MLC 2024.
