CPL 2022, SNP vs BR: Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder guide Barbados to a dominating victory

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SNP) were handed a humbling seven-wicket defeat by the  Barbados Royals (BR) in Match 3 of the Caribbean Premier League 2022 at Basseterre, St. Kitts. 

Andre Fletcher propels Patriots to a competitive total

Invited to bat first, Andre Fletcher and Joshua De Silva got Patriots off to a quick start. The duo added 57 runs under seven overs before Silva (17) was dismissed.

The rest of the proficient batting line-up fell like a pack of cards. It was the one-man show of Fletcher, who slammed 81 off 55 balls, laced with 11 fours and a six to boost the Patriots to a score of 149.

Mayers, Cornwall seal the chase for the Royals

In response, the in-form batting pair of Rahkeem Cornwall and Kyle Mayers steered the team at a lavish rate with their immaculate ball-striking capabilities.

Cornwall was dismissed for 39 off 25 by Dwaine Pretorius in the seventh over. However, the swashbuckling Mayers continued his dominance by hitting 73 off 46, with six fours and four sixes.

After Dwayne Bravo dismissed Mayers and Corbin Bosch (10), the duo of Azam Khan (9*) and skipper David Miller (2*) remained unbeaten to seal the game for the team, with more than four overs to spare.
