On December 6, India will lock horns against Australia in the 2nd Test of the ongoing five-match series as the visitors lead 1-0. Adelaide Oval will host the crucial game, and it will be a day-night Test.
Ahead of the crucial game, the players are sweating hard in the nets. However, the Indian Team have been involved in an unfortunate incident as several players reported misbehaviour from the fans who turned up to watch the net session.
Indian Team Troubled By Adelaide Crowd
Notably, there were around 3000 fans, who came to watch the Indian players bat. As soon as the players took guard, rude comments were thrown towards the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Further, a few players also reported being body-shamed.
"It was complete chaos. During the Australian training session, not more than 70-odd people turned up but during India's session, 3000 came. No one expected so many fans to turn up," a senior BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
Virat Kohli And Shubman Gill Have A Hard Time In The Nets
Notably, the fans nearly mobbed Virat and Gill as they had weird demands, asking players for selfies and passing bad comments.
"Virat (Kohli) and Shubman Gill could have been mobbed because of so many people. Some were doing Facebook live with friends and talking loudly just as the batter took a stance," he said.
"One supporter continuously urged a player to say 'hi' to him in Gujarati. Another particular cricketer was body-shamed" the BCCI source added.
As a result of the rude behaviour, the net sessions will now be held behind closed doors to avoid a mob-like situation. Further, looking at what occurred today, another session was arranged for fans before the Sydney Test, but now that too has been cancelled.
