KL Rahul punched out a fighting century against England in the first Indian innings of the Lord’s Test earlier this month. The cricketer composed 100 runs from 177 balls to top-score for India in their 387-run total. Rahul also made a fighting 39 in the second innings, however, his twin batting efforts failed to take India past the finish line.

Nonetheless, Rahul’s legacy has now been immortalised in the Lord’s Museum courtesy of his signed Team India jersey.

KL Rahul’s Century Lives On At Lord’s Despite Defeat

Following the age-old traditions, KL Rahul donated his signed jersey to Lord’s Museum after he recorded his tenth Test century and his second at the iconic venue earlier this month. On July 17, his jersey was seen proudly displayed at the Museum, thus making it a timeless addition to the pantheon of cricketing greats who have previously etched their names into the soul of the sport’s most hallowed ground.

For the unversed, the cricketer scored 100 runs from 177 balls with 13 elegant boundaries, reaching the landmark figure on Day 3 of the third Test of the series. Rahul was eventually deceived by Shoaib Bashir to make his way back to the sheds soon after reaching century. The 33-year-old additionally made 39 runs off 58 balls in the decisive innings to aggregate 139 runs in the match.

He previously scored a century at Lord’s back in mid-2021, making 129 runs from 250 balls on Day 1. Team India won that Test match on a thrilling Day 5 by a 151-run margin.

With his latest batting masterclass, KL Rahul became the first Indian cricketer in history to record two Test centuries at Lord’s.

He will now reprise his role for the Indian team alongside the rest of his teammates in the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester from July 23.
