After the Lord's heartbreak, Team India have begun their preparations for the Manchester Test that begins on July 23 at Old Trafford Stadium. The players are sweating hard in the nets as the Shubman Gill-led side trail 1-2 in the five-match series.

In the latest events, the visitors have dealt a fresh blow as star pacer Arshdeep Singh has suffered an injury scare and was seen with taping in his bowling hand during training.

Arshdeep Singh Injured In The Nets

According to a report from the Times of India, Singh suffered a blow to his bowling hand while while stopping a ball. There was a cut and the news was confirmed by India's assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate.

Singh is the latest addition to India's list of injured stars as a cloud looms over Rishabh Pant's fitness. Coming back to Arshdeep, the left-arm seamer is yet to play a single match in the series, but given Bumrah's workload management in mind, Arshdeep's injury is making the management sweat in fear.

There is a doubt whether Bumrah will play the Manchester Test, despite reports suggesting that the 31-year-old is available for selection alongside Rishabh Pant, who too dealt a blow to his finger and didn't keep the wickets in the Lord's Test.

India Pick Akash Deep Ahead Of Arshdeep Singh

The story so far has been that Arshdeep has been last in the pecking order as India trusted Akash Deep ahead of the PBKS star seamer. Notably, Akash Deep had a remarkable spell at Edgbaston but struggled at Lord's.

Notably, the 28-year-old took 10 wickets in Edgbaston, including a six-wicket haul. However, he just had a solitary wicket to his name at Lord's, which had increased Arshdeep Singh's chances of a game at Manchester. However, now it depends on the severity of the injury whether Singh will recover in time or not.
