In a setback for the Indian cricket team, KL Rahul is set to return to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to continue recuperating from a quadriceps injury sustained during the first Test against England in Hyderabad.

The talented wicket-keeper batter was forced to sit out the second Test due to the injury, emphasizing the toll it has taken on his playing commitments.

Adding to the injury concerns, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also made his way back to the NCA a couple of days back and Rahul is set to join him on the absentee list. Jadeja is nursing a hamstring injury, raising questions about the team's composition for the upcoming matches.

Notably, Star batter Virat Kohli had already opted out of the first two Tests for personal reasons, further complicating India's line up.

With the second Test scheduled to kick off on February 2nd at Vishakapatnam, the absence of key players has prompted the selection committee to make strategic changes. Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar have been included in the squad, aiming to bolster the team's strength amidst the challenging circumstances.

England lead the 5-match Test series, 1-0, having won the Hyderabad Test by 28 runs.
