Indian Representative's Presence Adds Spice To Final Champions Trophy Match In Pakistan
His arrival is quite significant given India's resistance to let their cricket team travel to Pakistan for the cricket tournament. As a result, India played all their matches of Champions Trophy in Dubai, and the relation between PCB and BCCI also took a beating because of constant debate over the schedule and venues of the tournament.
They have now reached an aggreement where both Indian teams and Pakistan team are not bound to travel to each other coutries for the the ICC tournament till 2029. Rajiv Shukla's arrival though is a positive move in the right direction, and the fans from both countries would be hoping that the two teams play a bilateral series soon.
Rajiv Shukla previously travelled to Pakistan before Asia Cup 2023 along with the president Roger Binny. This time around he has reached the neighbouring country via a shartered flight and would be watching the semifinal game from the stadium. Famous Indian journalists, Vikram Gupta and Nikhil Naaz also visitied Pakistan for Champions Trophy, and though there has been a lot of deadlock, there have been some small positive steps in cricket cooperation.
