New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra’s tryst with global limited-overs tournaments has received another glorious chapter. Opening the batting in the ongoing second semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against South Africa in Lahore, Ravindra scored 108 (101) with the help of 13 fours and a six.
A 154-ball 164-run second-wicket partnership alongside former captain Kane Williamson (102) laid the foundation for the team scoring 362/6 in 50 overs after captain Mitchell Santner (2*) won the toss and chose to bat.
Having played 18 out of his 28 ODI innings in Asia, Ravindra has a fantastic record in a continent where overseas batters tend to struggle especially in their formative years. Ravindra, on the other hand, has scored 876 runs including as many as five hundreds. Below are more such numbers around him:

67 – Ravindra’s 804 runs across two ICC ODI events have come at an average of 67. For batters who have scored at least 500 runs in ICC tournaments, Ravindra is only behind former Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds (76.66) in terms of average.
71.60 – For batters with at least 500 runs, Ravindra’s ODI average of 71.60 is only behind Williamson (76.54) at neutral venues. In the same context, the 25-year-old player’s strike rate of 109.81 is the fifth-highest (highest among Black Caps).
51.52 – Ravindra’s ODI average in Asia is highest among all Kiwi batters (min. 100 runs). In fact, he is their only player to average >50 whilst striking at >100 in the subcontinent.
5 – Each one of Ravindra’s ODI tons has come in an ICC event. Overall, the left-handed batter is only behind the likes of David Warner (6), Ricky Ponting (6), Kumar Sangakkara (6), Ricky Ponting (6), Virat Kohli (6), Shikhar Dhawan (6), Sachin Tendulkar (7), Sourav Ganguly (7) and Rohit Sharma (8) in the list of most centuries in global competitions.
For batters with a minimum of five centuries, only Ganguly, Dhawan, Warner, Ravindra, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Saeed Anwar have scored more centuries than half-centuries. Among New Zealanders, Williamson (4) is behind Ravindra.
13 – Ravindra is the quickest to register five centuries in ICC multi-team tournaments. His latest effort has allowed him to surpass former India batter Shikhar Dhawan, who needed 15 innings to touch the three-figure mark five times.
105.65 – Among New Zealand batters, Ravindra’s strike rate of 105.65 in ICC events is only behind teammate Daryl Mitchell (105.90). For Kiwi batters with at least 500 runs, no one else boasts a strike rate of more than 100.
