Kieron Pollard To Captain MI Cape Town In SA20 2024

Kieron Pollard is a legend of T20 cricket and his association with Mumbai Indians (MI) family has been a memorable one for over a decade now. The bond continues to grow stronger as Pollard has been named as MI Cape Town captain for the upcoming season of SA20.

Rashid Khan who led MI Cape Town in the previous season is currently unfit and the franchise have decided to go with the experienced Kieron Pollard for the upcoming season set to start on 10th of January. 

The former West Indies skipper recently led MI New York to a title win in the inaugural season and MI would be hoping that he can replicate the magic in SA20 too.

Pollard has led Mumbai Indians in the IPL previously and was one of the major pillars of MI's successful five-time title win in the IPL. MI Cape Town surprisingly finished at the last position in the first edition of the SA20 but they have plenty of quality players in their ranks, and they would be looking to bounce back in style.

Pollard has retired from international cricket but is still going strong in T20 leagues. He is also the batting coach for MI in IPL and is set to be assistant coach of England in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
