In match 16 of the ongoing IPL season, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will host Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 4, 2025, at the Ekhana Stadium in Lucknow. The anticipation for this clash is high, especially following a funny video featuring the playful banter between Rohit Sharma and Shardul Thakur that recently went viral.

Rohit and Shardul's Light-Hearted Banter

In a video shared by the Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma was seen having a light-hearted chat with Shardul Thakur and LSG’s mentor Zaheer Khan on the field during the practice session. It was during this conversation that Thakur could not resist and was teasing Rohit with a cheeky comment.  (Watch the video here)

As Rohit walked in, Shardul, known for his playful nature, commented "Rohit Sharma ek hi jan ho dekhne aate hain, The Lord. (Rohit Sharma comes to see only one person, The Lord).

Rohit, amused, responded with a grin, "Khudko 'The Lord' bol raha hain."

Without missing a beat, Shardul quipped, "Aur kya? Tune hi rakha hai naam"

Rohit then turned to Zaheer, greeting him with a warm hug, "Mr Khan, how are you man?"

It is important to mention that Shardul Thakur joined the LSG squad as a late replacement for Mohsin Khan (ruled out due to injury), has been in great form. He has taken six wickets in his three appearances so far.

Talking about Rohit Sharma, the MI's star batter had a tough start to the IPL 2025 season.  The Indian opener has scored only 21 runs in three games so far, and MI fans will be hoping that he finds his rhythm soon. The five-time IPL champions will need Rohit to fire if they are to make a push for the title after a disappointing last season.

Both teams are currently battling it out in the middle of the points table, with MI sitting at the 6th position and LSG just below them at 7th.
