In a lighthearted post-match moment, KKR star Rinku Singh gate-crashed the MI dressing room to borrow Rohit Sharma’s bat after their IPL 2025 clash at the Wankhede Stadium on April 1. Previously, Rinku had borrowed Virat Kohli’s bat multiple times.
The most recent match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders was a one-sided affair, with MI registering their first win of IPL 2025 in emphatic fashion.
South African batter Ryan Rickelton was the star of the chase, smashing an unbeaten 62 off 41 balls to guide MI to victory. His innings helped Mumbai reach the target of 121/2 in just 12.5 overs after bundling KKR out for a below-par total of 116.
Rinku Singh Borrows Rohit Sharma’s Bat To Tackle Lean Patch
In a video shared by MI’s social media team, Rinku Singh was seen in the opposition’s dressing room, asking for a bat from Rohit Sharma. All-rounder Tilak Varma jokingly complained that Rinku, despite having good bats of his own, was still eager to get his hands on one of Rohit’s.
Soon after, MI captain Hardik Pandya playfully confronted Rinku, who then had to explain his reason for the unexpected visit. Adding to the fun, young MI batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was also seen holding what appeared to be Rohit’s bat, making the moment even more entertaining.
Previously Rinku had borrowed two bats from Virat Kohli. After he broke the first one, he had to approach Kohli again, who taunted him for not being responsible with the bats.
Rinku’s Sharp Dip In Form A Big Worry For KKR
Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions, dropped to the bottom of the table after their latest loss against MI. With 1 win in 3 games, Kolkata haven’t fared well so far. Moreover, a big cause for worry for them in the form of Rinku Singh.
Once rated as the best promising finisher in Indian cricket, Rinku’s form has seen a major dip. This year, he scored 29 runs in 2 games that he batted in. His IPL 2024 campaign was also underwhelming, with 168 runs in 11 innings at an average of 18.66. If KKR were to advance further, they need Rinku Singh hitting at his usual self.
