Rinku Singh's exclusion from India's 15-member T20I squad for the five-match series against South Africa, announced on December 3, 2025, has sparked debate on social media. 

The 28-year-old finisher, known for his IPL heroics and domestic flairs was dropped alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Reddy to accommodate Hardik Pandya's return and Shubman Gill's inclusion who is subject to fitness as per BCCI.

Rinku Singh finds no place in India's T20I squad

Notably, under captain Suryakumar Yadav, the squad prioritizes all-round balance with Shivam Dube as the primary finisher, sidelining Rinku's proven middle-order clutch ability. 

Notably, Rinku Singh had a prolific season in IPL 2025, scoring 206 runs at an average of 29.43, although he did not register any centuries or fifties. Soon after, in the UPT20 league, he was breathtaking with the bat, averaging 62 from nine innings and also scoring a century. 

He was in phenomenal form in the Ranji Elite 2025-26 season as well, averaging 341 with two centuries across both innings. Yet, he finds himself out of the squad despite being part of India’s Asia Cup 2025 campaign.
