Jos Buttler and Ravichandran Ashwin missed out from Rajasthan Royals’ victorious party against Punjab Kings on April 13 at Mullanpur last weekend. The two cricketers were ruled out of the team’s playing XI owing to their respective injuries.

While Jos Buttler was not considered a “100 percent fit for the game” as per the Rajasthan Royals management, captain Sanju Samson revealed at the toss that Ashwin had a “niggle”.

Jos Buttler is expected to make a return to the playing XI of the Rajasthan Royals setup for their away match against the KKR. He will either be replacing Rovman Powell or Keshav Maharaj, depending upon the conditions on offer at the Eden Gardens.

Ravichandran Ashwin might also take field at the venue for Rajasthan Royals, considering the legendary Indian spinner has attained significant recovery from his “niggle”. The bowling all-rounder is expected to form a spin trio with Keshav Maharaj and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Rajasthan Royals is currently placed at the top of the IPL 2024 points table, with five wins to their credit from six games. Another win over KKR at this stage of the tournament will further solidify their status as one of the leading contenders to secure a top two finish in the league stage.
