Jay Shah Reveals World Class Infrastructure Of New National Cricket Academy In Bengaluru

Jay Shah, the honorary secretary of BCCI on Saturday, 3rd of August announced the near completion of the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. It would be opening shortly and will replace the old one which was also in Bengaluru near the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The new stadium will have three world-class playing grounds with 45 practice pitches along with indoor cricket pitches and olympic-size swimming pool. It will also have state-of-the-art training and recovery facilities. 

There is also a provision of sports science infrastructure, and the new NCA has been built near the Bengaluru airport. The construction announcement was first made in 2022 when Sourav Ganguly was the BCCI president, and it is all set to unleash now in 2024.

Currently, VVS Laxman heads the National Cricket Academy, and is an important institution for the development of young Indian players and rehabilitation of Indian international cricketers. However, Laxman is likely to leave his job, and in all probability, Vikram Rathour, who has just left the Indian batting coach job, will take over as the leader of NCA.
