Jay Shah Announces Rs. 8.5 Crore Backing For IOA Ahead Of Paris Olympics 2024

In a massive news coming, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given INR 8.5 crores to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for their better preparations in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, made the announcement by himself on Sunday on social media.

"I am proud to announce that the @BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign. To our entire contingent, we wish you the very best. Make India proud! Jai Hind!" Shah wrote on X (Previously known as Twitter) while confirming the news.


Notably, the Paris Olympics will begin on July 26, with as many as 117 athletes from India set to fight for medals to make the country proud. Further on, there will be 140-member support staff, making it a 257-person unit.

Earlier, Virat Kohli too wished all the very best for their participation in the competition, although he received criticism for another manner.

In all, Shah and the BCCI have been involved in multiple financial support lately, as they gave support of INR one crore fund for former India cricketer & coach Anshuman Gaekwad's cancer treatment.
