India’s pace sensation, Jasprit Bumrah stole the limelight on day two of the ongoing second Test match against England with a brilliant piece of fast bowling. He made the ball talk both with the new ball and the old ball as well. 

Bumrah looked lethal right from the start of the England innings, asking questions frequently. On a good batting track where there isn’t a lot of assistance for the bowlers, Bumrah produced one of the finest spells of fast bowling in Test cricket. 

Bumrah claimed six out of ten England wickets and helped India bundle them out for 253 runsin the second innings. Among those six wickets, the delivery which led to Pope’s wicket was one for the ages. 

Bumrah bowled an unplayable yorker and it sent Ollie Pope’s stumps flying. A video of the same has also been circulating on social media. Netizens have also drawn comparisons of that delivery with the ones that were once bowled by Waqar Younis. 

One of the fans had even tagged the former Pakistan bowler and cheekily asked him if the ball reminded him of someone. 

Waqar Younis also replied to the same, as he wrote: 

“Can’t think of anyone Hemant. Bumrah’s Magic.” 


Jasprit Bumrah becomes 2nd fastest Asian pacer to pick 150 wickets 

Jasprit Bumrah also became the second-fastest Asian pacer to reach 150 wickets in Test cricket. He achieved the feat after picking the wicket of Ben Stokes with an absolute peach of a delivery. 

The Indian pacer returned with outstanding bowling figures of 6 for 45 in 15.5 overs. The fastest Asian pacer to achieve 150 Test wickets is none other than Waqar Younis. Waqar Younis reached the feat in 27 Tests, while Bumrah achieved the landmark in 34 Test matches. 

As far as the Indian bowlers are concerned, Ravichandran Ashwin holds the record for being the fastest to 150 Test wickets. He reached the landmark in 29 Tests, followed by Ravindra Jadeja (32) at number two. 

England’s Sydney Barnes is the fastest bowler ever to pick 150 wickets in Test cricket. He accomplished the feat in just 24 Test matches. 

Talking about the ongoing 2nd Test match between India and England, the latter need 332 more runs to win the Test, while India need 9 wickets ahead of the fourth day on Monday.
