India star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been in the news recently with questions about whether he will play in the Asia Cup 2025. According to Indian Express reports, Bumrah has already told the national selectors that he is fit and ready to play in the tournament, which will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28 in the T20I format.

This is a big relief for fans who were worried after he was released early from the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series earlier this year.

During that series, Bumrah played three of the five Test matches in England. Bumrah was rested for the fifth and final Test even though the series was still undecided. The decision was part of a workload management plan designed by the BCCI’s medical team to avoid pushing him too hard.

Some fans were surprised when he was released mid-match and a few rumours even suggested he might have picked up another injury. However, those fears were cleared up when he confirmed his fitness for the Asia Cup. This now brings us to the main question:

When Was The Last Time Bumrah Played White-ball Cricket For India?

Notably, his most recent T20I game was the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup against South Africa at Kensington Oval. He played a key role in India’s successful campaign, taking 15 wickets across the tournament and even winning the Player of the Tournament award. After that, he was rested from India’s white-ball series to manage his fitness.

As for 50-over format, Bumrah last played in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Since then, he hasn’t featured in any one-day games, again because of workload management and injury concerns.
