Bangladesh will face Afghanistan in a white-ball cricket series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this October, right after the Asia Cup 2025 finishes.

According to Bangladesh’s Daily Star, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed that the two teams will play three T20 matches and three One Day Internationals (ODIs) between October 2 and 14.

“We are proud to host Bangladesh in this series. This tour highlights the strength of our partnership and reinforces our commitment to staging world-class cricket at neutral venues. Fans can expect exciting contests and fierce competition,” ACB Chief Executive Nassib Khan confirmed the series on Friday.

The series will start with the T20I games. The first match is scheduled for October 2, followed by the second on October 4 and the third on October 6. Once the T20I leg is over, the ODI series will begin, with matches set for October 9, 11 and 14. Notably, the ACB has not yet announced the venues for these matches.

Bangladesh, Afghanistan Gear Up For T20 World Cup 2026

The upcoming T20Is are important for both teams as they prepare for the T20 World Cup 2026, to be held in India and Sri Lanka.

Interestingly, this will be the first T20I series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan since their World Cup clash in June 2024 in Kingstown, where AFG's win took them to the World Cup semi-final.

This tour will come right after the Asia Cup, which will also be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28. The Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format and will feature eight teams.

Notably, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are in the same group alongside Sri Lanka and Hong Kong, and they are scheduled to face each other in the group stage on September 16.
