The Women’s Premier League (WPL) has so far announced a couple of big names as part of their opening ceremony roaster ahead of the 2026 edition of the tournament. On Wednesday, January 7, i.e., just a couple of days prior to the launch of the WPL 2026 season, WPL confirmed that Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez will have a pre-match performance at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, alongside Indian singer Honey Singh.

The WPL 2026 season will commence on January 9 with a match between RCB Women and defending champions Mumbai Indians.

Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez and Indian singer Honey Singh will be taking centre stage at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 9. The WPL has confirmed that the two dynamic Indian personalities will be taking part in a pre-match performance on the opening day of the WPL 2026 season.

While the opening match between RCB Women and defending champions Mumbai Indians is scheduled to commence from 7:30 PM IST onwards at the venue, the WPL also confirmed that the “pre-match entertainment” will start at 6:45 PM IST, i.e., just 15 minutes before the toss time.

The WPL 2026 season, also the fourth edition of India’s premier Women’s T20 competition, will be staged between January 9 and February 5 across two venues, namely the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium in Vadodara.

The first leg of the season will be hosted by Navi Mumbai up until January 17 before the action shifts to Vadodara from match number 12 up until the grand finale.

A mega auction of the WPL 2026 season took place in New Delhi a couple of months ago on November 27.
