New Zealand officially named their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
A major talking point of the announcement is fast bowler Jacob Duffy, who will play his first World Cup after an extraordinary year in international cricket. Duffy finished 2025 with 81 wickets overall, breaking a 40-year-old record held by Sir Richard Hadlee. He also ended the year ranked as the world’s second-best T20I bowler.

Alongside Duffy, New Zealand have retained a familiar core, including Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Adam Milne, and all-rounder Jimmy Neesham.
Spin duties will be led by captain Mitchell Santner, supported by Ish Sodhi, while all-rounders Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, and Rachin Ravindra provide flexibility in all departments.
With New Zealand placed in Group D alongside South Africa, Afghanistan, Canada, and the UAE, the T20 World Cup promises to be competitive.

KKR: Rachin Ravindra, Tim Seifert, Finn Allen - 3
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lead the way with three Kiwi stars:
- Rachin Ravindra will represent the KKR in IPL 2026 after being picked for ₹2 crore at the auction. The talented all-rounder previously played for Chennai Super Kings, making his IPL debut in 2024. Though CSK retained him for the 2025 season, he was released ahead of the 2026 auction, where KKR secured his services.
- Tim Seifert returns to KKR for the 2026 season after being bought for ₹1.50 crore. Seifert first played for KKR in 2021 and later turned out for Delhi Capitals in 2022.
- Finn Allen is the third New Zealand player in the KKR squad for IPL 2026. The hard-hitting opener was bought for ₹2 crore and is expected to add firepower at the top of the order.
MI: Mitchell Santner - 1
- The Mumbai Indians have retained New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner (for 2 Cr). He joined the franchise after leaving the Chennai Super Kings in 2024. Santner’s experience, economical spin bowling, and lower-order batting make him a valuable all-rounder for MI.
RCB: Jacob Duffy - 1
- Royal Challengers Bengaluru have signed Jacob Duffy for ₹2 crore. Coming off a sensational international season, Duffy is expected to strengthen RCB's pace attack with his accuracy and movement, especially in the powerplay.
PBKS: Lockie Ferguson - 1
- Punjab Kings have retained Lockie Ferguson for ₹2 crore. However, the express pacer is currently recovering from a calf injury, and PBKS are considering backup options. Despite his injury concerns, Ferguson remains a match-winner when fully fit.
CSK: Matt Henry - 1
- Chennai Super Kings have brought in experienced fast bowler Matt Henry for ₹2 crore. Known for his ability to swing the ball early, Henry will add depth to CSK's bowling unit.
RR: Adam Milne - 1

GT: Glenn Phillips - 1
