PUMA India has launched a daring and provocative new campaign titled 'You Need Balls,' featuring prominent Indian women cricketers, amid the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. With this campaign, PUMA aims to challenge the traditional perceptions of cricket and highlight the contributions of women in a sport historically dominated by men.

The campaign is a bold extension of PUMA’s iconic 'Cricket is Everyone’s Game' initiative, which previously sought to promote inclusivity in the sport. This refreshed version puts the spotlight on leading women cricketers who have been breaking records and redefining the game.

Among the cricket stars heading the campaign are captain Harmanpreet Kaur, wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, and rising talents Sajana Sajeevan, Hemalatha Dayalan, and Asha Sobhana.

Harmanpreet Kaur, long-time PUMA ambassador, spoke passionately about the message behind the campaign. She reflected on how cricket has been traditionally seen as a male-dominated sport but emphasized that India women are actively changing that narrative.

“There’s no denying that cricket has historically been a male-dominated sport, but we women are fiercely changing that perception. We’ve been on a mission to shift the narrative since PUMA’s groundbreaking CRICKET IS EVERYONE’S GAME campaign, and this fresh take hits home as it reminds everyone of what truly matters in cricket. Whether you're batting, bowling, ‘keeping, or fielding, it’s all about balls. We’re here to change the conversation and show that true glory is earned ball-by-ball,” said Kaur captain of the Indian Cricket Team, & PUMA ambassador.

Recently, PUMA shared a post on Twitter, in which the photoshoot for the campaign portrays the athletes in solid and assertive poses, that highlight their bold approach to the game and the resilience required to excel on the field.

The 'You Need Balls' campaign aims to inspire the next generation of female athletes by redefining success and perseverance in cricket.

The timing of the campaign, launched during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, serves as a powerful reminder of the growing influence of women in cricket and the need to continue pushing boundaries for gender equality in sports.
