The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh is underway at the Rawalpindi Stadium. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first.

The decision was a masterstroke as the hosts had already lost three wickets for just 16 runs. 

Abdullah Shafique was the first one to depart, followed by Shan Masood. While eyes were on Babar Azam, the former skipper failed to perform as he returned to the pavilion for a two-ball duck.

In the 8th over, Babar tried to  guide the ball down the leg-side, but Litton Das stretched to his right and took a one-handed stunner to dismiss Azam.

The fans took to Twitter to slam the right-hand batter for his poor display at home, as it was his first duck in Test cricket at home.

It is worth noting that Babar last scored a fifty in Test cricket in December 2022. 

Babar Azam's Woes Continues

Babar is struggling to perform with the bat as he is also the under the scanner over his captaincy. While, he is no longer the captain in Test cricket, his position as white-ball captain has also raised eyebrows after early exit from 2023 World Cup and T20 World Cup 2024.
