In the same function, Kohli was awarded the Cricket of the Year, and this is where the two cricketers first met.

The Indian opener, also posted a photo with Virat Kohli, with a heart-warming caption. The meeting inspired the youngster to become just like his idol, the meeting changed Gill's perspective towards the game, as stated by Gill himself.

Fast forward, a couple of years later, the two have been playing together in the Indian team. Gill has quickly stamped his authority in international cricket and Kohli has taken the youngster under his watchful eyes.
